KEKOVA and THE SUNKEN CITY

Kekova is an area of incredible beauty where history mingles with nature. The turquoise waters sheltered by Kekova Island, Simena village topped with the remains of a Byzantine fort, sarcophagi protruding from shallow waters and littered on the hillside and of course the Sunken City itself.
It is called the Sunken City as the historical buildings on Kekova Island sank into the water as a result of various earthquakes.
Staircases descend into the sea, whole rooms lie submerged whilst others stand proud in the shallow water, a testament to a civilization past.
Tour itinerary:
Drive to Ücağiz where you take a glass bottomed boat to explore the ruins of the sunken city, Kekova Island and Simena. Lunch is served on board and there are numerous opportunities for swimming.
