Saklikent, Tlos & Yakapark

A cool refuge on hot summer days Saklikent is the longest and deepest gorge in Turkey, a breathtaking spectacular natural wonder. As one explores it is impossible to remain impassive to the majestic soaring canyon walls which rise to a height of 600m in places, the water eroded boulders and the sheer power of nature.
For those less adventurous, sit and relax on one of the pontoons at a riverside restaurant, shaded by trees and cooled by the rushing water.
Tlos is one of the oldest residential areas of Lycia and continued to be inhabited until the 19th century. It was known as the ‘sports centre’ of the Lycian Federation. Tlos is the legendary home of the mythological horse Pegasus and his rider Bellerophon, who crashed to earth after boasting to the gods.
Bellerophon’s temple is beautifully situated on the cliff face. Other structures from Thlos’ early period include the acropolis with its remarkable rock tombs, the stadium and bath complex and the theatre.
